Meet our 2025 London marathon runners
The London Marathon is one of our biggest fundraising events, and in 2025, we were incredibly grateful to have so many amazing people running in support of DFSG. Thanks to their dedication, vital funds were raised to help us continue supporting around 800 families across the UK, a number that continues to grow each year. Here’s what some of our runners had to say:
Sam White
The event was incredible, with huge numbers running and supporting. I expected it to open up as the race went on. Having the DSFG wristband on was a great reminder to keep pushing to the finish. I crossed the line in 3:24. An amazing memory and I am so happy that I was able to raise money for such a great cause.
Caleb Cunningham
The Marathon was a great experience which I would love to do again. As a runner I always have time goals I want to achieve. In this race, I did achieve my time goal but this time I’m not really fussed about it because of how really cool the experience was. Hearing all the crowd and remembering the cause I was running for, helped me keep going and finish the run.
Jordan Cox
Wow, what an experience the London Marathon was! It was just great to be among so many people challenging themselves to support charities they care deeply about. The crowds kept me going the whole way, and although I didn’t get the time I had hoped for, I enjoyed every minute! When it got tough, I just remembered my WHY…for all the wee boys fighting DMD.
Chris Wright
It’s safe to say I cried multiple times that day, a day I will never forget and I am very thankful for the DFSG for giving me the opportunity to run the marathon and tick it off my bucket list. I am delighted to have raised £2400 for the charity and I hope this helps continue the great work that the team do to support the families who need it.

The crowd was absolutely amazing and even with the hot weather, helped me push through the tough times of the race and finish with a time I was really proud of. I loved running for DFSG, and the thought of fundraising for such a good cause really helped me during the race and all of the training leading up to the race. Thank you!
Billy Unwin
It was amazing. I had the best experience I have had in a very long time. The fundraising went well and I got to over the £2000 target. Once again thanks for giving me this experience. My son had an absolutely amazing time clapping all the runners on and seeing me struggling through. Thank you DFSG.
