It was an icy cold start, my 5k run started at 10.30, for the first part of the race it was running against the bitter cold wind. but i really enjoyed doing this my first run. i pretty much jogged at a slow pace the whole way and for a self confessed non runner, was buzzing knowing it was for a good cause and really pleased i completed it.

The vast majority of Duchenne patients are boys and young men who progressively lose their physical functions before they inevitably die of this cruel disease. On Friday 15th March 2013, Musical Director Josh Mills took his production of 'We Are What We Are' (not just men in tights) to a delighted audience in a sell-out show at the Underground Theatre, Eastbourne, with the help of some wonderful friends. Their aim was to once again raise funds and awareness for DFSG.

DFSG had a stand at the 5th UK Neuromuscular Translational Research Conference, which took place on 22nd and 23rd March at the International Centre for Life in Newcastle. The meeting was jointly hosted by the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign and the Medical Research Council (MRC) Centre for Neuromuscular Diseases.
